MyPTV Player Privacy

This Privacy Policy explains how MyPTV Player ("MyPTV", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the app.

MyPTV is designed to function primarily with data stored locally on your device. We do not sell user data and we do not collect playlist or viewing information for advertising purposes.

The app may include third-party advertising services, such as Google AdMob, which may process limited device and usage data to display and improve advertisements. These services operate under their own privacy policies.

1. Information We Process

a. App data stored on your device

MyPTV stores app data locally on your device in order to provide core functionality. This may include:

  • playlists or source connection details you add;
  • channel, movie, and series metadata retrieved for playback and browsing;
  • favorites;
  • watch history and continue-watching progress;
  • app and playback settings.

This data is primarily stored locally and used so the app can function as expected.

b. Optional cloud sync

If you choose to enable cloud sync, MyPTV may store limited app data in cloud storage linked to your own account in order to restore or sync your experience across devices.

For example, this may include:

  • watch history and continue-watching progress;
  • selected profile data;
  • related sync metadata needed to match your data across your devices.

On Android, when enabled, this data may be stored in your Google Drive app-specific storage area (appDataFolder) under your own Google account and accessed only after you authorize the connection.

We do not make this synced data public, and we do not use it for advertising.

c. Support communications

If you contact us by email, we may process:

  • your email address;
  • the contents of your message;
  • any information you choose to include in your support request.

We use this information only to respond to and resolve your request.

d. Diagnostics and crash information

If diagnostics or crash reporting are enabled in a given version of MyPTV, we may receive limited technical information needed to identify bugs, crashes, and performance issues.

We do not intentionally collect playlist contents, channel names, or viewing history as part of diagnostics unless clearly disclosed and necessary for troubleshooting.

e. Advertising data

When ads are displayed through third-party services such as Google AdMob, these services may collect or receive limited information, such as:

  • device identifiers (such as advertising ID);
  • IP address or general location;
  • app interaction data related to ad delivery.

This data is used by the advertising provider to serve and measure ads and is governed by their respective privacy policies.

Where required, we will request your permission for personalized advertising. You may opt out of personalized ads through your device settings.

2. What We Do Not Sell or Use for Ads

We do not:

  • sell personal data to advertisers or data brokers;
  • use your playlists, channel lists, or viewing activity to build advertising profiles;
  • share playlist contents or watch history with advertising providers.

3. How We Use Information

We use information only as needed to:

  • operate the app;
  • save your settings, favorites, and playback progress;
  • provide optional sync features if you enable them;
  • process subscriptions or premium access through the relevant app store platform;
  • display advertisements and measure their performance;
  • respond to support requests;
  • maintain app security, stability, and performance.

5. Data Sharing

We do not share your app data with advertisers.

We may share limited information only in the following situations:

  • with advertising partners (such as Google AdMob) for ad delivery and measurement;
  • with platform providers or cloud providers when necessary to enable features you request;
  • with service providers that help us operate support, diagnostics, or app infrastructure;
  • when required by law or legal process;
  • to protect the rights, safety, security, or integrity of users, our services, or others.

6. Data Retention

We retain data as follows:

  • local app data remains on your device until you remove it, uninstall the app, or clear app data;
  • optional synced data remains in your connected cloud account until deleted by you;
  • support correspondence may be retained for up to 18 months;
  • aggregated diagnostics data, if collected, may be retained for up to 12 months;
  • advertising-related data is handled by third-party providers under their own retention policies.

7. Your Choices and Rights

You may also:

  • disable optional sync at any time;
  • disconnect cloud sync from within the app;
  • opt out of personalized advertising via your device settings;
  • delete app data locally by uninstalling the app or clearing app storage;
